Scheduled my C-sect with Epi on 8 Sept 2012 to bring bb Krystal out as she is now in her week 39. Do not want her to be so comfy till week 40 before inducing her out for natural and ended up with Emergency C-sect.
Reached Mount Alvernia on 8 Sept 2012 at 5am to register and admit myself together with my clan, my parents, sis, Jason and of koz HB.
Room 360 (St Raphael's ward) 2 bedded
After settling down, the nurse started to help me shave and I am to changed to my hospital gown and to clear my bowels. After done, I am wheeled to the observing operating theater. Feeling excited to see bb and abit scare on wads gonna happen later on.
The nurses and doc there are very friendly. They make u feel like home just that the whole environment is so tensed up. Den I hear a familiar sound from a far. Its Dr Irene Chua who have arrived! Asking me if I am ok or not. Everything cleared and I am wheeled to the operating theatre! Lots of lights, surgery knifes etc etc.. Was asked to curl up like a prawn to administer the Epidural. 1 poke my spine and 1 poke my left wrist for the drip. It was fast before I felt giddy and no feelings on the legs at all. All of them started to move around very fast. Before I knew anything, they said, ur hb is on the way in now! I was told, bb is on the way out! Dr Irene exclaimed, bb isnt engaged till now! And after that, I saw my hb who held my hands tight and another Dr pushes my tummy down. Dr Irene exclaimed again, bb's shoulders are out! OMG such a big baby. and i shouted back, I tot bb is normal size! all happened in a breeze of less den 10mins before I hear her first cry! Such warm feeling which I feels like crying.
Hb managed to captured all those above.

bb was cleared of everything and I was put to monitor as my blood pressure dropped might be due to the massive lost of blood.
After many checks of blood pressure, i was cleared and been wheeled back to ward.
So glad to see all my fam members!
I was shivering like mad in the ward although the air con wasnt facing directly over me. It was the side effect of the epidural.
Shivered for about 2hrs or so before cooling down. The wound hurts. Locia wasnt alot as claimed from the nurse. It flowed to the bed and I was so paiseh about the mess. For the first day, wasnt allowed to get of from the bed and all things which I wanted to do needed help from either the nurses or family members. Not even allowed to eat. Only put on drip. I was so hungry but nurses did not clear me of food.
Later on MIL came over to look at bb Krystal. All left the ward at around 830pm as the visiting time was 8-830pm.
I was all alone in a double bedded ward.
(was sharing it with another person but she requested to change as it was too cold for her.)
Didnt sleep the whole night as the nurses keep waking me up to take blood pressure, eat medicine and pushing bb to me for breastfeeding. Wasnt successful at all.
- Day 2 -
Woke up early in the morning, still with tubes and all on my body. The nurse came to give me my mouth gargle as i still couldnt get off the bed. After the gargle, again, medicine. I asked the nurse if I could eat anything. She said wait for gynea.
I am patiently waiting for Dr Irene to come and check me. As it was a sunday, she came at around 10+am. She checked my wound and all before storming off as she have already instructed the nurses to get the drip and so off me. The nurses did not get the drip off me till afternoon time. At last I am cleared of all and was asked to get my 1st step off the bed!
I had some milo first and decided to get off the bed after having a hot drink to visit the toilet. It wasnt as bad as I have imagined. The first step although painful but it was bearable. I have yet to touch any painkillers since Day 1 after the epidural wears off. After the 1st step to the wash room, I requested for some light meals and some painkillers juz in case.
Family members started to come and visit me.

Day 2 and I have a neighbour. She juz had her delivery done and was snoring like mad in the next bed, making me sleepless again. Another sleepless night and I keep requesting the nurses to bring my baby in for me.
- Day 3 -
So looking forward to be discharge the next day as neighbor was a terror. Snoring like nobody biz and I had a hard time sleeping.
Meals for the day:
some pineapple tarts which I dun tink I could eat them. HB finish it up for me.
And again, family members came to visit me and I was taught breastfeeding by the lactation consultant. Besides that, bb physiotherapist came to teach us how to correct her legs posture.
BB doc Dr Darryl from KinderClinic came to tell us her progress and her blood group. But we were more concern about the bloodshot and pus eyes.
Dr Darryl was abit worried about the Jaundice so he requested bb to be put for phototherapy for the day so that she could be discharge the nx day! We agreed on it and she was put to phototheraphy~
Hopefully can get well real soon.
Dr Irene came to check and all are cleared~ Happy mommy!
I could get up with no support now and could walk around my bed.
HB stayed till quite late as the neighbor are still having visitors till 11pm the previous day.. so inconsiderate.
- Day 4 -
Discharge day!
Breakfast was horrible.. the food tasted horrible.
My clan came down at 8am to fetch me back! Dr Irene gave me a green light to be discharge and I could be discharge anytime! Was so so so happy about it and I walked out of the ward to look for bb. Pushed her back to my ward to cuddle her and feed her of koz.
Dr Darryl came and told us tat need to draw a tube of blood from bb to test her Jaundice and some other test which we signed up for her.
Report to be out by 11am. Which means, we have to stay till 11+ 12 noon to know if we could b discharge or not.
Pray damn hard tat everything is cleared!
Time passed so slow and the report is out! BB could b discharge with mummy! So happy. After done all the discharge and so, we proceed to the chapel to do a blessing for bb Krystal!
