skin pricked allergy test

brought the little one to the skin prick allergy test as she keep having rashes which did not recover after lots of steroids cream used.

Dr Darryl referred us to Dr Chan YC at Gleneagles. his clinic is at #07-14/15. a very deserted clinic tucked cosy at the very end.

after registeration, the wait is like less den 10mins and we are ushered into the room for consulation. as per usual, questions asked regarding her rashes and more understanding was needed. we poured out everything we knew or suspected. Dr Chan did a microscopic check on the rashes and diagnosis as fungus infection instead.

she was given the fungus cream to apply and to monitor for a week. and we requested to have a skin prick allergy test to check if she is allergy to any food.
it was a simple test with no blood withdrawn.
all the nurse did was to clean the back, write test no on the back, prick and wait for 20mins before the results are out.

after the results are out, all are tested negative!
thank god tat its not the food allergy that causes it. juz lets hope all these saga would b gone soon. and her rashes would recover soon.

lil Gem is sick again..
Brought her to the doc to check on her flu and her bad nappy rash.
Had a low grade fever of 37.5 and was told to monitor only.

So far, she is like a queen at home. Throwing tantrums whenever she couldnt get the things at her way. Not sure if its becoz she is born in the dragon year?
Have been also looking high and low for childcare around the area so that she could learn more stuffs and be independant.

Was also glad that she is now putting on weight and is now a 8.6kg!
*During the hospital stay, she was only 7.9kg.
Thanks to perhaps the EO I have been using works and she have a better appetite now.

I woke up finding her sleep like that with socks lost and hugging the pillow case.

Playful moment in the afternoon!

Her latest facial expression. *Frown Frown and more Frowning*

Oh yea, she also mastered on drinking from straw!! Indeed my lil gem is now growing up fast. Really misses the days where I could see her from day to night, seeing her grow up instead of now, at work and cant really monitor her.

*Ps, she still cant walk and cant stand well yet! Gambatte my girl!

REAL Measles

Measles (also known as morbilli, English measles, or rubeola — not to be confused with rubella) is an infection of the respiratory system caused by a virus, specifically a paramyxovirus of the genus Morbillivirus. Morbilliviruses, like other paramyxoviruses, are enveloped, single-stranded, negative-sense RNA viruses. Symptoms include fever, cough, runny nose, red eyes and a generalized, maculopapular, erythematous skin rash, the symptom of which measles is best known.

And yes, #bbKrystal was down with REAL measles.
She have been having fever since beginning of the month. Fever have been rocket high at 39 degree and lowest at 37 degrees on and off for almost 2 weeks. Was very worried as fever have yet to go down if no medication is taken. Went to GP, suspected dengue. Referred to Polyclinic for blood test and her platelets count were low. Go back to GP again, GP asked to go home and next few days to go for blood test again.

It really hurts to see her lil tiny finger been pricked to many times.

Her fever still goes on.........

During the weekend of 7 and 8 Sept, its Creston and her own birthday bash.
No signs of recovering. So we decided to go ahead with her birthday bash but with some changes of plan.

Birthday post will be the next post.

8 Sept, fever still lingering around..

9th Sept, we decided to bring her to her own PD, Dr Darryl Lim from Kinderclinic.
Brought her to do a blood test and to her PD.

Still, nothing is been concluded.

During her period of fever, she still eating and drinking well. Playing well except her tireness. So nobody could really see whats wrong with her.

2 days passed..

11 Sept, her fever shot a sky high of 40.4 degrees. Oh dear.. so worried tat we brought her back to Dr Darryl at his clinic at Mt Alvernia instead. After a short talk to the PD, we decided to admit her instead. Gave her a suppository and went ahead with the hospital admission, blood test, phlegm test. Send her up to the kids ward, prepared her for the blood withdrawal and phlegm withdrawal.

I can still clearly remembered the scene of #bbKrystal been pinned down by the nurses, wrapped her hand up, and poking in the tube to withdraw the blood. Keep calming myself down telling myself that i must be strong to be strong for my lil one. In the room with the lil one and yet i couldnt cuddle her when she cries, couldnt really help her to ease the pain, its very heart breaking. All the scenerio of her crying crying and crying till fell aslp is carved into my mind..

Her little hand with the tube for drip.

So.. she was warded for 3D2N.
But another good news was that the fever was now almost gone. 6hrs with no medication after the suppository, the fever did not come back. Pray hard it will not come back at all.

Hugged her to bed as she was so scare of everyone.
Mummy had to be confined onto her baby crib and daddy to the side sofa.

8hrs passed.. No signs of fever..
12 hrs passed.. No signs of fever..

Thanks god for protecting my little girl.

Report was out and mostly negative for the dengue, UTI, bacterial, viruses..
Except for 1, the measles test..

Next day with her "handphone" on both hands to prevent her from pulling the tube out.

No fever but still, we were advised to stay for another night to monitor her.

"hello" Krystal how are you?
By now, she is already playing after her fever subsides.

We upgraded the room to a single room for the last night as we doesnt wan any disturbance from the "neighbours"
Got hold of the Mickey mouse Theme room which really cheers the lil ones and the adults up alil.

Dr Darryl came to checked on her and feels tat she is fit to be discharged the next day after his final check the next day. As usual, mummy hugged lil one to slp and this time round, daddy have a single sofa bed to himself.

Dr Darryl came in quite early the next morning, check on her and viola~ she is ok to be discharged!
how happy we were! Had breakfast, pack up and off we go!

Upon reaching home, had a call from Dr Darryl to confirmed that she is having real measles. oh dear. and real measles are dangerous as it spreads and usually its been spread! dunno who spread the illness to her!! informed all those whom she had contact with the previous days/weeks that if they had similar symptoms to go to the doc immediately.

Luckily, by now, she is fully recovered except for the scars. Hope that those will fade away soon!

*Ps: I would like to thank Emily and Kimberly godmothers for coming to visit my lil precious when she is down!

Baby's Day Out 2013

Participated in the Ufamily Baby's Day out 2013 Event on NTUC Facebook and won myself a goodie bag for this event below.

Date: 3rd August 2013, Saturday
Time: 4.30pm – 8.30pm (Registration begins at 4.30pm)
Venue: The Lawn @ Marina Bay, 8A Marina Boulevard (S)018984 (open space between Marina Bay Financial Centre and The Sail)

Wanted to bring Krystal's new Trike out but she was quite cranky. So forego the idea and brought her stroller out instead.

Reached there in time for the registration and the que wasnt too long.
All over the streets were people dressed up in red tops as the NDP parade is just opp of the event we are attending! Which means, we are able to see the fireworks too from our end!

Dad Dad with the lil notti girl.

Mummy with lil notti cheeky girl

And thats us at the event start.

Hb went to get some finger food as I am starving and me prepare to feed baby her porridge.
Maybe due to the over crowded crowd, the terrible noise with speakers over our head, and her very first greenery outing, she doesnt wan her food. All she wan was to wriggle away or bite something.

Had a hard time feeding her.

Baby saw the parachute and shouted very loudly, "bird bird" I was shocked and laughing over her "bird bird" it was so embarrassing.

A view from where we are overlooking the crowds watching NDP.

As we were giving coupons to play games, we decided only on 2 games as the rest of the kids games were to small for lil notti girl.

Lil girl was cranky for sitting and not doing anything so we decided to leave the place for our late dinner.
Walked over to MBS and wanted to have our dinner but it was so crowded at the food court and the rest of the restaurants were crowded too.

Had to feed baby her porridge and she managed to finished it up.
but still being cranky, we had to rush all over our food and drink.

Its already 7+ pm tinking that the fireworks will start anytime and we hurried out to the open but our lil cranky queen doesnt wan to be carried or put in her stroller.

Its a torture to being to cranky baby out. Hopefully the phase will pass soon.

Waited in the car for the fireworks while pacifying the lil one her milk and managed to catch hold of the fireworks only at 8.10pm and it lasted less den 10mins.

Oh well, after a short evening out, she is feeling better when we were about to reach home.
Just becoz at last, she poo..
Rushed her home to bath and we headed out for mcdees!

That we end our baby's day out.

Haze Haze Haze Worst Haze as per now

By now, everyone should be affected by the bad Haze by our neighbouring country burning the oil palms.
Everyone is now grabbing whatever mask is left - N95, the normal ones, etc etc.. Sales have been going up for Mask and Air purifier.

So what have I bought so far? nothing. Do not know where to start purchasing as mask were all sold out, air purifiers were selling like hotcakes, some even OOS. Or might even raised the price of it.

Last night, it was the worst night as the PSI hit a sky high of 393! (But govnt decided to change it to 321 instead.) - Story here & here

Besides mask being hotcakes, Hello Kitty is the next rave in town!
Oh well, the duckies kitty is sold out islandwide..

Current update of the PSI. Hitting at 371. another sky high at this time!

Oh dear.. hoping everyone is doing well now.

5th Wedding Anniversary - Pan Pacific Hotel Staycation [Part II]

Continue from Part I here

After settling down, its around 4pm which is way passed my lunch! But due to a hungry stomach, we have to get some food. Off to Marina Sq which is downstairs. so so so near.. walked around aimlessly looking for food. Ended up with Mac. Pack back to the hotel to have it.

After brunch, rested awhile, followed by some sunset pic as below..

From our hotel room

From the lift

As we have booked buffet at edge at Pan Pac, we headed down for our sumptuous dinner!

Edge Food theatre

lil gem excited!

Our reserved seats. As the seats are at the middle and we have a pram, we requested for a changed of table to somewhere corner, so that the lil one can slp/play/fuss/ or wadeva she likes to do so not to disturb the other guests.

these are some of the food we ate.
Ranging from Chinese, to western, to malay, to indian and fusion food!
Very worth the price if you go on a hungry stomach and a not so fussy baby!

I would go again if the price isnt that steep, the baby with a caretaker and a hungry stomach!

After dinner both of us were so bloated from all the mac-dees and buffet. Decided to return to the room to clean baby up and rest for the night.

After sunset view

MBS!!

What greeted us was this lil box.. when we reached our room..

ta-dah~~ Happy Anniversary! Thanks Pan Pac for being so nice to give us a cake on our anniversary!
As we were still bloated from the mac-dees and buffet, we decide to leave for breakfast~
So, off we went to wash up, for the baby, ourselves and the bed is calling out to us!

- Next Morning -

Yes, was greeted with the rain splattering..
bb gem was coping well despite is was her first stay-outside trip. (exclude her hospital stay when she was a newborn!) whereas mummy is deprieve of sleep.. worried mummy is worried on baby not able to cope and stayed up the whole night. Daddy was snoring away as usual.

And again, after washing up, we headed down for breakfast! As it was like so so so early, we only have a choice of staying in the hotel for breakfast. all we gonna have again is buffet from Edge.

Not a fantastic breakfast.. But its pricey!

Drop by the pool for some sunlight~

Took out baby's socks and pants to let her have a kick at the water!
But totally not interested.. so we walk around instead.

Beautiful place but cant captured all of us in the pic..

a Fam pic with the see thru glass lift!
Yes, suntec behind us!

lil gem making full use of the bed before we leave the hotel!
Had a bathtub for hub and baby first den its me turn!
Soak myself for sometime and had a nice warm shower and off we checked out at 12noon!

bb gem cried like mad when we were about to leave.. might be due to its too comfy there and staffs there tried to help me out but failed! well.. loved the services that they offered. thanks!

Hope to get another staycation real soon! (hopefully someone could sponsor us!)
Any baby friendly hotel besides Pan Pac?

That ends my staycation and a nice wedding anniversary with hub and baby gem!
